A selection of our Year 9 learners are working with Scientists from Northumbria University and STEM Ambassadors - also from Northumbria University.
The fantastic project involves learners researching why animals and plants use colour.
Throughout the project learners will carry out experiments that look at colour in Chemistry. Experiments will also be carries out that look at the bioluminescence of organisms.
Our learners will be posting comments here to track their progress throughout the project so keep checking back to see what they are getting up to!

Well done to all of 9X1 who have taken part in the project. I am very proud of the way you have all worked and conducted yourselves, particularly on the two visits to Northumbria University. You showed off some fabulous practical skills.
I am really looking forward to working with you next term to get your presentations up to scratch for the presentation evening.
Keep up the good work and you will be the proud owners of the very prestigious CREST Silver Award.
Mr. Manns
