Environmental Project - Sweden!

Mr Manns and Mrs Carter are taking 11 Year 9 pupils to Kunskapsskolan in Sweden in June. Our pupils are currently completing an Environmental project which they will present to peers in Sweden when we join up to work with pupils from Mortimer College and will commence a collaborative project on Global warming and rising sea levels in Sweden.

In preparation for Sweden the pupils have visited St Mary's Lighthouse and Black Middens Beach to carry pout some fieldwork on the litter found at the sites and the effects this has on marine biodiversity. We have been fortunate to have been working with Susan Gebbels who is a lecturer based at Newcastle Universities Dove Marine Labs, who will also be accompanying us to Sweden.

So far, we have all been on 2 visits, one to Black Middens in Nort Shields, and one to St Maries Island. While we were there we collected data on the amount of litter we found, and put this into graphs. We split ourselves into 2 groups, and started making presentaions to show in Sweden.

We flew from Newcastle to Schiphol in The Netherlands then took another plane to Arlanda in Stockholm Sweden.

Sweden was amazing !! I didnt want to go home, it was the best trip ever and the best time ever. Never had so much fun ! Tony has took all the pictures from here and put them on his facebook haha...
Thanks Mr Manns, Mrs Carter, Mrs Gebbels and the teachers from Mortimer for an amazing trip !! :)
